      Samuel Drake "Sammy" Carver was born 27 September 27, 1949 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama.
    
      His parents were
Andrew Hillman and Laura Beatrice (Drake) Carver.

      Sammy
was married on August 15, 1969 in Montgomery, Alabama to Brenda "Kay" McCraken daughter of
      
Sidney Johnson and Margaret Ann (Hamner) McCraken.

      SSgt Carver died on July 18, 1977 in Pensacola, Escambia, Florida while with the 4th Force Recon Reserves
      stationed out Mobile, Alabama, he was killed by a lighting strike while training in the field.
      He was survived by his wife "Kay" and two daughters.
