Thomas Halbert "Tom", Jr. was born on November
30, 1939 in Fort Myers, Lee County, Florida to Thomas H., Sr. and
Pat Griggs. His step-mother from the age of ten was
Alma
Lee Quick-Mayers-GRIGGS. Tom died on November 15, 2007
in Live Oak, Suwannee County, Florida. Burial was
November 19, 2007 in the Indian Spring Cemetery, Punta Gorda,
Charlotte County, Florida.

In support of
Operation Kansas, using the US Army CV-2 CRIBOU Aircraft. At 0200H drop
was made
near the
village of Hiep Duc, team had 20 1/2
hours on ground, with 7 sightings of 44 VC. At 1830H two woodcutter
with dog moved close to hidden
chutes, the dog found the chutes and woodcutter & dog left the area
with one
of the chutes.
The woodcutters with 7 VC returned to area where chutes were hidden and
started searching
the area moving
in the direction of the hidden team. Extraction was requested and team
was extracted at 2030H.
