BOOHER CEMETERY
A.K.A. Summit Cemetery
Catalogued May 10, 1975 by Viola Busy Beavers 4-H Club under the
direction of Mrs. Virginia McCauley and reviewed May 22, 1975 by
H. A. Dieter. Located in a densely wooded area about 80 rods north of
the former Olaf Dalberg farm residence, section 11, Town of Forest. The
farm has, since the County plat of 1972 had a change of ownership,
since the death of Mr. Dalberg, to one Roger Johnson. Follow County
Trunk MM 2.5 miles north of Wis. 56. The cemetery was listed as such in
the County plat of 1895, together with the Summit U. B. Church now no
longer standing. Size and position of this burial site would, at
present, qualify it as a plot, only, considering the small number of
stones now visible. The two Booher stones are standing while the Hess
slab type marker lies flat nearby. There is presently no access to the
burial spot, save for following a field fence line running east and
west within about 40 feet of the graves. There is no apparent
indication of other burials. The Booher burials may assuredly be that
of father and son, while the name Hess could also be linked to the
Booher family. The land containing the plot was owned by Isaiah Booher
as per plat of 1895.
