MOSHER BURIAL PLOT
Catalogued April 23, 1975 by H. A. Dieter and Gideon Pliner. Located
one-fourth mile north of Junction Wis. 56 and Wis. 80. The plot lies on
a raised portion of land bordering Wis. 80 on the east side of the
highway. The burials are located about 30 feet from the west and south
as the land corners at the section 33 line, Town of Rockbridge. The
area is presently pasture land. This family plot was begun in about
1874 after the death of one Emmaly Mosher, daughter of Daniel D. and
Maria Bristel Mosher. There are six reported burials, some recorded by
Richland County and others by family reference only. Three remain
unidentified as of this date. Certain records, statements and events
concerning this family plot has aroused the writer's interest whose
continued efforts have helped to substantiate it's existence. Early day
facts began to unfold in 1856 when the various Mosher families began to
buy land in sections 28-29-33, Town of Rockbridge. Abram Justice (Jet)
Mosher, son of Daniel and Maria Mosher, married Eliz. Tadder, daughter
of Hiram and Emeline Hancock Tadder. Carrie, daughter of A. J. &
Eliz. married Thomas McCauley, whose one son Elwood, born 1 March 1885,
died 1 May 1885. He was also an older brother of Mrs. Lee McNamer. She
was born 31 March 1887 and is presently residing with her husband Lee,
now 90, at the senior Citizens Home near Richland Center. The following
